Code of Conduct
1. Purpose
This Code of Conduct defines the expected standards of personal and professional behaviour for all representatives of Kidney Care for All CIC (KCA), including staff, volunteers, and directors.
2. Who the Code Applies To
This Code applies to:
– All volunteers
– Directors and committee members
– Staff
– Contractors or partners acting on behalf of KCA
3. Core Principles and Expectations
KCA expects everyone to:
– Act with integrity and honesty – avoid deception, fraud, or conflicts of interest
– Treat others with respect and dignity – maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward colleagues, beneficiaries, and the public
– Promote inclusion and non-discrimination – support equality and avoid discriminatory or offensive behaviour
– Uphold confidentiality – respect privacy and protect sensitive or personal data
– Follow the law and KCA policies – including safeguarding, data protection, and financial integrity
– Be accountable – take responsibility for your behaviour and report concerns or mistakes appropriately
4. Additional Expectations for Volunteers
– Only represent KCA when authorised
– Avoid using KCA’s name for personal or political campaigns
– Do not accept gifts or hospitality without prior approval from a director
– Seek guidance if you are unsure about a situation or action
5. Reporting Concerns
Any breaches of this Code or concerns about conduct must be reported to a Director or in line with the KCA Whistleblowing Policy. Reports will be handled confidentially and fairly.
6. Consequences of Breach
Breaches of the Code may result in:
– Verbal or written warnings
– Termination of volunteering agreement or role
– Referral to appropriate authorities (if applicable)
