At Kidney Care 4 All, our three driving principles are:
Provide sustainable solutions
Improve access to dialysis and kidney transplant around the world
Create local capacity, not international dependency
Kidney disease is one of the leading causes of premature death globally
Kidney disease is one of the leading causes of premature death globally, affecting an estimated 850 million people worldwide and leading to between 5 and 11 million deaths per year.
This level of disease takes its toll on the wider society, leading to worsening poverty and a failure of already stretched healthcare symptoms to manage the overwhelming number of patients.
Independently, leading to better outcomes for the local population
For example, in Sub-Saharan Africa, an estimated 14% of the population suffer with chronic kidney disease, but less than 1% have access to treatment. Too many are destined to die undiagnosed.
Care for patients around the world with kidney failure is expensive and often leads to huge financial stresses on the family and wider community.
Here in the UK all such patients are considered for dialysis and/or kidney transplant and life opportunities are transformed. This disparity is something we can help alleviate.
